Winemaker Notes
Rich Cherry, spice and red berry flavors. Planted to grapes in the 1870’s, Stanly Ranch is one of the oldest existing vineyards in the Napa Valley. I’ve been working with fruit from this vineyard for over a decade and it’s still one of my very favorite vineyards. Its strawberry, cherry and rhubarb characters are unmistakable. The ranch’s undulating hills roll in a green blanket through the acclaimed Carneros Appellation, almost to the water’s edge of the Napa River and the San Pablo Bay. Garnet Vineyards Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir showcases the legacy of this historical and award winning vineyard.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Pinot Noir is a great choice with lamb, duck and even medium-rare beef. Why not try something a little more adventurous, however? I’ve been experimenting with quinoa and wild rice recently and have found their toasty, earthy flavors a natural pairing with Pinot. Try serving as a side dish, tossed with toasted chopped almonds, shallots, kale and pancetta and finished with a few drops of balsamic vinegar.
