Our Gravel Bar Estate Reserve Red Mountain AVA Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied, with flavors of smoky pepper, black-cherry and currant. Rich, complex and firm in texture, aged in French and American oak, medium plus toast. Our vineyards, up to 1,000 ft. elevation, are high-density planted averaging 1,339 vines per acre. The
vines are on southwest-facing slopes allowing for long hang time with yields less than 3.5 tons per acre. Crafted in small lots, our reserve barrels are hand selected. 645 six-pack cases produced.
Careful handling of this wine in the cellar amplified the natural attributes of the ripe grapes. Barrel aging helped to tame the tannins while contributing its bounty of flavors to the wine. Black-cherry, black-olive, and chocolate mingle with vanilla, cedar, and toasted hazelnut. The finish is long-lasting, with a rush of flavors and elegant tannins embracing the palate.
